Felibri uses the services of the world's largest book sellers and distributors, Ingram Book Group and Baker & Taylor. Thanks to this alliance we put the world at your doorstep. With $70 dollars, your book becomes available to over 25000 booksellers and libraries and will enter into the established sales channel. This is the catalogue retailers and libraries consult to place their order.  We give you the tools to sell your book. The rest is up to you.

We also make your book accessible to Google Book Search.  Google scans your book and publishes parts of it.  Your book then will be listed in search engines and shows up anytime someone makes a search related to the content of your book.  Potential customers will read the scanned pages, much like someone browsing through books in a bookstore.  This is free advertising.   You must authorize us in writing to make the content of your book available to Google Book Search.

With $70 dollars, we will include your book in the Ingram catalogue. This is the catalogue tens of thousands of boosellers, as well as schools, universities and libraries consult to order new books. Once your book is featured in this catalogue it will be available to all booksellers including:

  • Barnes and Noble
  • And Many Others!

Theoretically yes! Brick and mortar booksellers also consult the Ingram Book Catalogue to make their purchase. However, unless you are famous, they are unlikely to purchase your book to display. It costs to run a store. The managers want to display books that they know will sell. Of course, they wil order your book if someone asks for it. But do not expect to see your book in all bookstores.

This has been a major disadvantage of self publishing until now. Espresso Book Machines are about to change that. With EBM, your book will be available in digital form everywhre and it can be printed in minutes, on demand. What was a disadvantage is going to be an advantage because you can keep all the profits of the sale without having to give the lion’s share of it to a publisher. Once this technology becomes widespread, many authors will see the financial benefit of self publishing.

16• What are the disadvantages of POD publishing.

POD books are harder to sell. They do not get a lot of reviews. POD publishers do not edit. The task of editing falls on the shoulders of the author. Many authors don't take editing seriously and therefore, the quality of their book is not great. As the result libraries and major bookstores are reluctant to order them.

The most important factor in the success of a book, appart from its content, is promotion. Whether you self-publish or do it through a publishing house, unless you promote your book agressively, don't have high expectations.

17• Will advertising help sell books.

Yes it does, but try to find ways to promote your book for free. If the book is not well written and properly edited, no matter how much money you throw at it, it won't sell. Spend more time honing your message and making your book the best. We can help make your book look great, but it is up to you to write a book that everyone wants to read.

18• How can I promote my book?

There are many good advises avaiable online. Read several of them. You can learn a lot from others.

19• Will my book have an ISBN?

If you plan to sell your book through book sales channels, you need to have an International Standard Book Number bar code placed on the back of your book. Felibri will assign an ISBN to your book free of charge, if you purchase the Premium plan. If you choose the Basic plan, you can buy an ISBN from us for $15 dollars, or if you wish to be seen as the publisher, you can buy an ISBN number from your own country's ISBN agency. (Here is the site of the US ISBN Agency .)

If you do not intend to use the sales channels, you don't need an ISBN.

20 • Do I have to buy a certain quantity of my book?

No. You do not have to buy any copy of your book. You can order your book through Amazon.com or other booksellers when it becomes available.

21• How much is the printing cost of my book?

The printing cost of your book depends on the plan you buy. We have two plans, Basic and Premium.

22• How much will my book sell for?

That depends on you. You can charge as much as readers are willing to pay, i.e. between a few dollars to hundreds of dollars. But if you have competion in the area that you are writing, (you always have) it is prudent to price your book competitively, but not too cheap.
